Introduction to Beekeeping   Sunday 11th June from 11 – 4pm Cost £35.00

You will learn about:

  • History and the Moveable Frame Hive.
  • Handling a hive – Theory.
  • The Colony.
  • Pollination and Products.
  • The Beekeeping Year.
  • Bee friendly plants and planting.
  • Colony Health pests and diseases.
  • Manipulation and Swarming.

Tea and coffee and all workshop materials are included. Lunch can be purchased from our café or bring your own packed lunch.

Getting ready for bees Sunday 25th June 10-4pm

For those wanting get bees and start keeping them, this course includes making a hive to take away ready for your bees.

This will be a more hands on session where you will learn the practical aspects of keeping bees, how to make a hive and frames. This course will include time actually looking at and handling bees.

The cost is £40 including tea/coffee. Lunch can be purchased from our café or bring your own packed lunch. The cost of the hive will be dependent on which hive you choose. please contact us for more details.

Children’s Wildlife Gardening

This runs over 6 weekly 1 hour sessions commencing either

Saturday 10th June 2017 10-11am Or Thursday 15th June 2017 3.45-4.45pm

This is for children to learn about gardening to encourage wildlife. The cost will be £5 per session plus the cost of any workshop materials the children wish to take home with them. Limited spaces so please book you place.

Suitable for children 8+


Spring Bulb Planting Workshops.

Each Wednesday morning throughout the month of September.

You will be given information and advice so that you can choose from our  variety of containers and spring bulbs to create your own individual  beautiful spring planter

The cost is just for the materials so depends on which container and bulbs you choose.

Then why not round off your morning with a light lunch in our café (see the café page on this website) Please book your slot as these events get quite busy.

September 16/17th

Hedgehog weekend including:

  • Hedgehog home making workshop all day Saturday and Sunday.
  • Information about how to encourage hedgehogs to your garden.

  • Pumpkins for sale
  • Pumpkin carving
  • Spooky biscuit decorating in the cafe


Christmas wreath making workshop – Cost £20.00

Make your own Christmas wreath to take home with you all workshop materials are included
